Benefits to agents

Increased visibility, recognition and credibility throughout the indirect sales channel and vendor community as well as capital markets

By establishing standards of conduct, fostering a strong sense of community among TCA members and acting as the indirect sales channel’s official voice, TCA will increase the channel’s, visibility, recognition and credibility. These efforts will be aimed at promoting a more favorable business environment for the indirect sales channel, making it easier for agents to accomplish their business objectives.

Access to unified and effective communication with the vendor community

As the official, unified voice of the indirect sales channel, TCA will have a direct conduit to the decision makers of the vendor community. Not only will TCA strive to represent agent interests as a group, but TCA will also be available to assist you when you need support to make your individual concerns known to a vendor.

TCA will be able to help you get your message in front of the right people and make sure that it gets the attention it deserves. And because your message will be coming from a member of a well respected trade association, it will carry more weight then it would from an isolated individual.

Identification and publication of industry standards and best practices

TCA will survey vendors and agents to compile a comprehensive collection of standards and best practices for both vendors’ channel programs and agents’ business practices. Agents will benefit in two ways. First, as more and more vendors tailor their indirect channel marketing programs to reflect industry best practices, indirect channel efficiency will improve, empowering agents to sell more with less effort. Second, agents will be able to take advantage of the publicized standards and best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their own operations.

Stronger and deeper relationships with various levels of vendor organizations

TCA will be a vehicle promoting cooperation between agents and vendors. Providing opportunities for agents and vendors to work together will help agents strengthen their relationships with their carrier representatives. TCA will sponsor regularly scheduled events to promote stronger relationships between agents and vendors with the goal of maximizing the potential of the indirect sales channel. Vendors have already committed to providing education, training and other tools to help develop and empower agents.

Through the Agent Advisory Board, the opportunity to help shape the future of the indirect sales channel (for Charter Members only)

TCA’s Agent Advisory Board will be responsible for articulating the interests of the agent community within the organization. Being a charter agent gets you directly involved in formulating policy and advocating for the agent community. This is truly a rare opportunity to take a leadership role in the development of an institution that promises to have a profound influence on our industry.
